Cannot part with the thought of

Me saying something about palm trees.
But I am so distracted,
My thoughts like static.
There's no reception with your eyes there.
Eyes like stars in the ocean.
Drifting so slowly.
I wish it was a memory.

But here we are capsized in a sea of understood goodbyes. Words would have been nice, but I guess we never had much to say anyway.

So what am I doing?
